Dr. Adenrele Olajide
Dr. Adenrele Olajide, originally from Nigeria, completed his medical degree from the University of Ibadan in his home country. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training, followed by fellowship training in Rheumatology on Long Island, New York at the SUNY at Stony Brook (East Meadow Program) in 2003 and 2005 respectively. He worked in private practice in Dewey, AZ for 4 years prior to commencing an academic rheumatology career in Huntington, West Virginia with the department of Internal Medicine at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in 2009. He has a passion for making access to care for everyone affordable. He received an award for commitment to diversity in 2020. He has served on various committees at the intramural and extramural levels. He is committed to giving back to his home country by supporting several projects over the years.
Dr. Olajide enjoys seeing patients across the spectrum of rheumatology. The challenge presented by the variety of cases and the different degrees of complexity make for very intellectually stimulating experiences. Dr. Olajide has experience teaching medical students, Internal Medicine and Orthopedic residents and Rheumatology fellows. He has done this in the hospital, clinic and classroom settings. He enjoys interacting with learners of various stripes, believing that learning is a lifelong experience.
