Dr. Bukky Adewole
Professor Olubukola A. Adesina attended Government College Agege, Lagos where she was Head Prefect. In 1985, she gained admission to the prestigious College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. During her study she won prizes for best student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Her internship was completed 1991 to 1992 at the nation’s premier teaching house, the University College Hospital, Ibadan. She then proceeded for the mandatory one-year national youth service corps at the Specialist Hospital, Sokoto. Between 1993 to 1995 she worked at a private hospital in Lagos. However, in a bid to build her capacity and advance her career, she commenced residency training in 1995 in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, University College Hospital, Ibadan.
She was successful at her examinations and completed her residency training in 2002. Between 2002 and 2004, she served as the project manager of the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV program of the HARVARD – APIN (AIDS Prevention in Nigeria) program. In 2004, she was appointed lecturer 1 into the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, College of Medicine University of Ibadan. She rose through the ranks and was promoted Professor in 2019.
Professor Olubukola A Adesina has served in several capacities in the College, University and Hospital. These include congregation representative to Senate, Faculty representative to UCH/UI ethics committee, Chairman COMUI student welfare committee, Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of UCH, Chairman Undergraduate Departmental Committee and Chairperson SOGON (Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Nigeria ) western sector.
Professor Olubukola A. Adesina is happily married with children..
