Adeshina Sergei Fawole, MBBS, FRCS (Surg in Gen), MD, FRCS (Gen Surg) is a highly skilled and experienced Consultant General and Gastrointestinal Surgeon with over 25 years of practice in surgical care. He graduated from the University of Ibadan in 1991 and completed his higher surgical training in Yorkshire and Leicester, UK. Specialising in robotic/laparoscopic and open gastrointestinal surgery, including colorectal cancer surgery, bariatric surgery, endoscopy, gallbladder and hernia repair. Provides multidisciplinary care in collaboration with gynaecologists for the surgical management of gastrointestinal complications of endometriosis.

Proven leader in clinical governance and education, with a passion for teaching and research. An active contributor to the advancement of surgical practices through research and international presentations. He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds, UK and is a faculty member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England Surgical Skills Course. He has a postgraduate degree, MD, from the University of Keele, UK, following research into the molecular genetics of colorectal cancer.

Trustee of Operation Hernia, a UK based charity which provides global quality surgical services and training in low-resource settings.

He holds a substantive Consultant General Surgeon post in Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, UK and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, Edinburgh and England.
